Low Definition Models

Up to Glossary

In many productions you have two version of a model. The high definition and the low definition. For Arty the Low definition Model is the model you obtain by converting the subdivition surfaces (if there is) using the vertex tesselation method. This produce a very efficient model that can be smoothed at the rendering time using the renderman polysmooth. Any new model must be modeled the same way. As less polygons as possible to obtain a perfect result when you smooth them. So Low and High definition models are the same. The high definition is obtained at the redering time
